कुमाराभिषेकप्रश्नः — Inquiry into Kumāra (Skanda) Investiture at Sarasvatī
“अतः विप्रवरो आप यहाँ हमारा उद्धार करें; क्योंकि आपलोग सम्पूर्ण लोकोंका उद्धार करनेमें समर्थ हैं! ।।
ataḥ vipravaro bhavān iha asmākam uddhāraṃ karotu; yato bhavantaḥ samastānāṃ lokānām uddhāre samarthāḥ. teṣāṃ tu vacanaṃ śrutvā tuṣṭuvuḥ tāṃ mahānadīm; mokṣārthaṃ rakṣasāṃ teṣām ūcuḥ prayatamānasāḥ—
“因此,噢婆罗门中最卓越者,请在此赐予我们解脱;因为你们有能力使一切世界得度。”听罢那些罗刹之言,诸仙人心志专一、神情澄定,便赞颂那伟大之河萨拉斯瓦蒂(Sarasvatī);为求那些众生得解脱,他们遂如是说道——
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even those viewed as fallen or fearsome can be included within the horizon of compassion: the sages respond to the rākṣasas’ plea not with rejection but with prayer and disciplined intention, directing sacred praise toward liberation (mokṣa) rather than mere punishment or exclusion.
After hearing the rākṣasas’ request for deliverance, the sages become focused and, for their sake, offer a hymn of praise to the great river Sarasvatī—treating the sacred river as a purifying, liberating power—then proceed to speak further (the next verses).
