शापस्य लक्षणं चैव यक्ष्माणं च तथा55त्मन: । उनके इस प्रकार पूछनेपर चन्द्रमाने उन सबको उत्तर देते हुए अपनेको प्राप्त हुए शापके कारण राजयक्ष्माकी उत्पत्ति बतलायी

śāpasya lakṣaṇaṃ caiva yakṣmāṇaṃ ca tathātmanāḥ |

毗湿摩耶那说道:他们询问诅咒的征兆,以及那侵袭于他的消耗之疾(yakṣmā)。月神旃陀罗遂答曰:正因所受之咒,名为“王消耗病”(rājayakṣmā)的病患由此而生——昭示道德过失及其果报,能化作苦痛显现;而追问其因,正是通向理解与疗治的一步。
