अद्य त्वमिह विश्रान्त: श्वोडभिगन्ता युधिष्ठिरम् । एतावदुकत्वा वचन विदुर: साश्रुलोचन:
adya tvam iha viśrāntaḥ śvo 'bhigantā yudhiṣṭhiram | etāvad uktvā vacanaṃ viduraḥ sāśrulocanaḥ ||
三阇耶说道:“今日你就在此歇息;明日你将去见坚战(Yudhiṣṭhira)。”话只说到这里,毗度罗双目含泪,便沉默下来;悲恸与忧惧压在心头——在战争的废墟之中,正法此刻究竟要求人如何行事。
संजय उवाच
Even in crisis, wise counsel begins with humane care: rest, composure, and timing. Vidura’s tearful restraint underscores that dharma is not merely rule-following but compassionate discernment amid sorrow and moral complexity.
Sañjaya reports that Vidura tells the addressed person to rest for the day and to go meet Yudhiṣṭhira the next day. Vidura then stops speaking, his eyes filled with tears, indicating deep emotional strain in the war’s aftermath.
