The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: even when encircled by elite opponents, a warrior is expected to maintain composure, skill, and disciplined action. Ethical emphasis lies on steadfastness and trained restraint—prowess used with purpose in the ordered duties of war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Dhṛṣṭadyumna, hemmed in on all sides by great chariot-warriors, continues to range across the battlefield, demonstrating remarkable speed and dexterity in weapon-use despite the surrounding pressure.
