Sauptika Parva, Adhyaya 8 — Dhṛṣṭadyumna-vadha and the Camp’s Nocturnal Rout
अपश्यच्छयने सुप्तमुत्तमौजसमन्तिके । इस प्रकार धृष्टद्युम्म और उसके सेवकोंका वध करके अभश्व॒त्थामाने निकटके ही खेमेमें पलंगपर सोये हुए उत्तमौजाको देखा
apaśyac chayane suptam uttamaujasaṃ antike |
三阇耶说道：阿湿婆他摩杀死了持军（Dhṛṣṭadyumna）及其侍从之后，又在近旁营帐里看见优多摩乌阇（Uttamaujā）卧于床上沉睡。此景揭示夜袭中道义的崩塌：对手并非在光明正战中相逢，而是在睡梦里毫无防备地被发现，使“胜利”沦为屠戮，而非合乎法（dharma）的决斗。
