Śiśupāla-nigraha-prastāva: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Conciliation and Bhīṣma’s Defense of Kṛṣṇa

Book 2, Chapter 35

Iti prakāraśrīmahābhārate sabhāparvake antargata rājasūyaparvame nimantrita rājānām āgamanaviṣayaka catuḥtriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.

Educational Q&A

The verse functions as a colophon, underscoring the importance of orderly, dharma-aligned public proceedings: great rites and political gatherings are framed as accountable events with clear beginnings and endings, reflecting discipline in governance and narration.

The narrator signals the completion of a chapter in the Sabhā Parva’s Rājasūya section, specifically the episode describing the arrival of invited kings for the imperial Rājasūya ceremony.
