वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores kṣatriya-dharma in its political form: disciplined conquest carried out through alliance, strategy, and personal excellence, emphasizing ordered governance and the fulfillment of royal responsibility rather than reckless violence.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Arjuna, accompanied by an ally, proceeds on a campaign and achieves victories over the region called Śākala-dvīpa and over a ruler named King Prativindhya.
