Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
अपरिहार्या मेघानां मागधा मनुना कृता: । कौशिको मणिमांश्वैव चक्राते चाप्यनुग्रहम्,मनुने मगधदेशके निवासियोंको मेघोंके लिये अपरिहार्य (अनुग्राह्म) कर दिया है; (अत: वहाँ सदा ही बादल समयपर यशथेष्ट वर्षा करते हैं।) चण्डकौशिक मुनि और मणिमान् नाग भी मगधदेशपर अनुग्रह कर चुके हैं
aparihāryā meghānāṃ māgadhā manunā kṛtāḥ | kauśiko maṇimāṃś caiva cakrāte cāpy anugraham ||
风神伐由天说道:“摩奴使摩揭陀之民成为云雨所不可或缺者,即得云霭特别眷顾;因此在那片土地上,云常按时降雨,遂人所愿。圣者旃陀·拘尸迦与那伽摩尼曼亦曾赐福于摩揭陀国。”
वायुदेव उवाच
Prosperity in a land—symbolized by timely rain—is presented as linked to accumulated merit and the favor (anugraha) of revered figures. The verse frames natural abundance as morally and spiritually conditioned, not merely accidental.
Vāyu-deva explains why Magadha enjoys dependable rainfall: Manu established a special relation between Magadha and the clouds, and later both the sage Caṇḍa-Kauśika and the Nāga Maṇimān also granted their blessing to Magadha.
