कर्ण च शल्यं च कुरूंश्व॒ सर्वान् बाणैरविध्यत् प्रसभं किरीटी | तत्पश्चात् किरीटधारी अर्जुनने धनुषकी प्रत्यंचाको हाथसे रगड़कर कर्णके दस्तानेपर आघात किया और सहसा बाणोंका जाल फैलाकर वहाँ अन्धकार कर दिया। फिर कर्ण, शल्य और समस्त कौरवोंको अपने बाणोंद्वारा बलपूर्वक घायल किया
