Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
vṛtaḥ sṛñjaya-sainyena śaineyena ca bhārata | vadhyante ete samare kauravā niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ||

The verse highlights the moral and practical consequence of aligning with adharma: when a cause is unjust and support erodes, even powerful warriors become exposed. It also reflects the Mahābhārata’s ethical realism—war magnifies prior choices into irreversible outcomes.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the Kaurava forces are encircled by the Sṛñjaya troops and by Śaineya (Sātyaki), and are being struck down by volleys of sharp arrows in the ongoing battle.
