Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
एते नर्दन्ति कौरव्या दृष्टवा कर्णस्य विक्रमम् । त्रासयन्तो रणे पाण्डून् सृञ्जयांश्व समनन््तत:
ete nardanti kauravyā dṛṣṭvā karṇasya vikramam | trāsayanto raṇe pāṇḍūn sṛñjayāṃś ca samantataḥ ||
桑阇耶说道:“目睹迦尔那的神勇,这些俱卢勇士放声咆哮;在战场上,他们从四面八方令般度诸军与斯仁阇耶诸军心生恐惧。”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how visible prowess (vikrama) shapes battlefield morale: courage and intimidation function as strategic forces, reminding readers that war is fought not only with weapons but also through psychological dominance and collective confidence.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, after witnessing Karṇa’s heroic might, the Kaurava fighters roar loudly and attempt to terrify the Pāṇḍavas and their Sṛñjaya allies from all directions in the midst of battle.
