The verse highlights kṣānti (endurance) and dhairya (steadfastness) amid violence: even when confronted by overwhelming, destructive force, a warrior’s ethical ideal is to remain firm and unshaken—like a mountain—rather than be swept away by fear or reactive anger.
Sañjaya reports a vow-like resolve on the battlefield: the speaker declares that Arjuna’s furious, storm-like attack will be endured by standing immovable like the Himalaya, emphasizing the intensity of Arjuna’s momentum and the opponent’s determination to withstand it.
