Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
tasmai sadā prayacchanti vaiśyaputrāḥ kumārakāḥ

The verse underscores a dharmic social ethic: members of the community, even the young, sustain a person they deem worthy by regular giving—implying that generosity and support are ongoing responsibilities, not occasional acts.
Sañjaya reports that young boys from the Vaiśya community repeatedly give offerings to a particular person (“to him”), indicating that the individual receives continual support from ordinary people.
