कर्णपर्व — पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः | Karṇa Parva, Chapter 15: Pāṇḍya’s Advance and Aśvatthāmā’s Counterstroke

निर्वेष्ठ भर्तृपिण्डं हि कालोडयमुपजीविनाम्‌ । सूक्ष्मो विवादो विप्राणां स्थूलौ क्षात्रौो जयाजयौ

nirveṣṭa-bhartṛpiṇḍaṃ hi kālo ’yam upajīvinām | sūkṣmo vivādo viprāṇāṃ sthūlau kṣātrau jayājayau ||

三阇耶说道:“凡依附君主而活的人,此刻正是使护主之食有其意义之时——当为其事业坚定站立。婆罗门的争论微妙,以辨识与理性裁决;而刹帝利的胜败则粗显分明,由战场上的兵刃来定。”
