अभ्यधावन्त वेगेन ततो युद्धमवर्तत,राजन! इसी प्रकार भीष्म, द्रोण आदि कौरव योद्धा भी बड़े वेगसे पाण्डव-सेनापर टूट पड़े; फिर तो दोनों दलोंमें भयंकर युद्ध होने लगा
abhyadhāvanta vegena tato yuddham avartata, rājan! īsī prakāra bhīṣma, droṇa ādi kaurava yoddhā bhī baṛe vegase pāṇḍava-senāpar ṭūṭ paṛe; phir to donoṃ dalom̐ meṃ bhayaṅkara yuddha hone lagā
三阇耶说道：“随后他们以极快之势向前冲击，国王啊，战斗遂完全交锋。同样地，毗湿摩、德罗纳以及其余俱卢勇士也以惊人的力量扑向般度军；不久，两军之间便爆发了骇人的厮杀。”
