Arjuna’s Advance toward Bhīṣma; The Gāṇḍīva’s Signal and the Armies’ Convergence (भीष्माभिमुखगमनम् — गाण्डीवनिर्घोष-ध्वजवर्णनम्)
राजन्! तब आपके चौदह पुत्रोंने भीमसेनपर धावा किया। उनके नाम ये हैं--सेनापति
rājan! tataḥ tava caturdaśa putrā bhīmasenam abhyadhāvan. teṣāṃ nāmāni—senāpatiḥ, suṣeṇaḥ, jalasaṃdhaḥ, sulocanaḥ, ugraḥ, bhīmarathaḥ, bhīmaḥ, vīrabāhuḥ, alolupaḥ, durmukhaḥ, duṣpradharṣaḥ, vivitsuḥ, vikaṭaḥ, samaḥ—ete sarve krodhāt tāmrekṣaṇā bahubhir bāṇavarṣaiḥ bhīmasenam abhyapatanta, ekībhūya ca tam atyarthaṃ vyathayām āsuḥ. putrāṃs tu tava samprekṣya bhīmaseno mahābalaḥ sṛkkīṇī vilihan vīraḥ paśumadhye yathā vṛkaḥ; mahābalī mahābāhur vīro bhīmasenaḥ garuḍa iva mahāvegāt teṣāṃ sammukham agacchat. tatra prāpya pāṇḍukumaras kṣurapra-nāmnā śareṇa senāpateḥ śiraś ciccheda.
桑阇耶说：大王啊，随后你的十四位儿子一齐冲向毗摩塞那。他们名为：塞那钵底、苏舍那、阇罗散陀、苏卢遮那、乌格罗、毗摩罗他、毗摩、毗罗婆呼、阿罗卢波、杜尔穆迦、杜什普拉达尔沙、毗毗次苏、毗迦吒与娑摩。众人怒目赤红，箭如骤雨倾泻，并肩合力，重创毗摩塞那。毗摩塞那见你诸子，强如雄狼入群，舔舐唇角，复以迦楼罗之疾猛然直扑。及至近前，般度之子以剃刃般锋利之箭斩落塞那钵底之首。
