पिता पुत्र च समरे नाभिजानाति कश्चन । वह युद्ध अत्यन्त भयंकर, रोमांचकारी तथा सबको व्याकुल कर देनेवाला था। उसमें कोई पिता अपने पुत्रको भी पहचान नहीं पाता था
pitā putraṃ ca samare nābhijānāti kaścana | tad yuddham atyanta-bhayaṅkaraṃ romāñcakāri ca sarva-vyākula-karaṃ babhūva | tasmin kaścid api pitā sva-putram api na pratyabhijānāt |
三阇耶说道：在那场战斗里，竟无人能认出哪怕自己的儿子。厮杀已变得极其可怖——在恐惧中令人战栗又令人亢奋，搅得众人心神大乱。如此混沌之中，连父亲也辨不出自己的孩子，显出战争如何遮蔽人伦常情与道义的清明。
