Bhīṣma-nipāta-saṃvāda — Sañjaya’s Report of Bhīṣma’s Fall (भीष्मनिपातसंवादः)
न धृत्या न पुनस्त्यागान्मृत्यो: कश्चिद् विमुच्यते | जान पड़ता है कि अस्त्रसे, शौर्यसे, तपस्यासे, बुद्धिसे, धैर्यसे तथा त्यागके द्वारा भी कोई मृत्युसे छूट नहीं सकता है || ५९ ह ।।
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | na dhṛtyā na punastyāgān mṛtyoḥ kaścid vimucyate | kālo nūnaṃ mahāvīryaḥ sarvalokaduratyayaḥ |
持国王说道：“无人能从死亡中解脱——既非凭坚忍不拔，亦非凭舍离放下。时间（迦罗）确具大威力，对一切世界而言，皆不可逾越。”
