भरतानां च ये पूर्वे ते चैनं प्रशशंसिरे । महोपनिषदं चैव योगमास्थाय वीर्यवान्
bharatānāṁ ca ye pūrve te cainaṁ praśaśaṁsire | mahopaniṣadaṁ caiva yogam āsthāya vīryavān ||
三阇耶说道:婆罗多一族的先祖们也称颂他。那位雄伟的英雄,依止于大奥义书精髓之瑜伽,内修不懈、定志不移——即使在战争的毁灭之中,也以灵性的决断为尽责一生加冕,故当受礼敬。
संजय उवाच
True greatness is not only martial valor but also inner mastery: the verse highlights Bhīṣma as one who, beyond worldly duty, takes refuge in Upaniṣadic yoga—spiritual discipline grounded in the highest wisdom.
Sañjaya describes Bhīṣma’s stature: even the ancient forebears of the Bharata line praised him, and he is portrayed as a mighty figure established in profound yogic discipline associated with the Upaniṣads.
