प्रासशव्त्यृष्टिसड्चैश्व बाणौघैश्ष समाकुलम् । निष्प्रकाशमिवाकाशं सेनयो: समपद्यत,दोनों सेनाओंके प्रास, शक्ति, ऋष्टि और बाणोंके समुदायोंसे भरा हुआ वहाँका आकाश प्रकाशहीन-सा जान पड़ता था
sañjaya uvāca | prāsaśaktyṛṣṭisaṅghaiś ca bāṇaughaiś ca samākulam | niṣprakāśam ivākāśaṃ senayoḥ samapadyata ||
三阇耶说道:两军投掷的长矛、标枪、枪戟与如雨箭潮塞满长空,使得上方的天空仿佛失却了光明。此景亦寓示战争所投下的道德幽暗——当暴力的洪流遮蔽清明与吉祥之兆,即便双方各自追随其所信为“法”(职责)之路。
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how warfare, even when undertaken under claims of duty, can create an atmosphere of darkness—symbolically suggesting that violence obscures light, clarity, and auspiciousness. It invites reflection on the ethical cost of conflict and the need for discernment (viveka) amid dharma-based justifications.
Sañjaya describes the intensity of the battle: both armies hurl spears, javelins, lances, and volleys of arrows so densely that the sky appears dark, as if deprived of light.
