Educational Q&A

Even in the urgency of war, dharma requires deliberation and respect for rightful authority: the Pāṇḍavas act collectively, seek counsel, and honor the revered elder Bhīṣma, showing that ethical conduct includes deference to lineage and the moral weight of elders’ presence.

After conferring among themselves, the Pāṇḍavas proceed together to Bhīṣma—described as the senior of Pāṇḍu’s line and father-like—accompanied by the powerful Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa).
