Bhīmasena’s Engagement with Multiple Mahārathas

The verse highlights the ethical gravity of dharma-yuddha: even when an opponent is awe-inspiring and seemingly invincible, one must face the challenge with steadiness and right guidance. Krishna’s deliberate steering toward Bhishma symbolizes purposeful engagement with duty rather than avoidance of fearsome power.
Sanjaya describes Bhishma’s battlefield presence as sun-like and difficult to behold. Krishna, acting as charioteer, drives the white horses toward the sector where Bhishma is fighting, indicating a direct approach toward the Kaurava commander in the thick of battle.
