परिवत्रू रणे यत्ता भीमसेनं समन्ततः । गदा हाथमें लिये हुए भीमसेनको देखकर उन गजारोही सैनिकोंने उन्हें यत्नपूर्वक चारों ओरसे घेर लिया

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | parivatrū raṇe yattā bhīmasenaṃ samantataḥ | gadāṃ hastam ānīya bhīmasenaṃ vilokya te gajārohī yodhās taṃ yatnapūrvakaṃ caturdiśaṃ paryavārayanta |

Translation

三阇耶说道：在激战之中，那些乘象的武士见毗摩塞那手执铁杵，便竭力从四面八方将他围困。此景显出战争冷酷的法则：当可怖的强者现身，众人便合力遏制其威势，使勇气在重围之下化作耐力的考验。
