ववुश्न वातास्तुमुला: शंसन्त: सुमहद् भयम् । घोराश्न घोरनिर्ह्नादा: शिवास्तत्र ववाशिरे
sañjaya uvāca | vavuśna vātās tumulāḥ śaṃsantaḥ sumahad bhayam | ghorāś ca ghoranirhrādāḥ śivās tatra vavāśire |
三阇耶说道:“狂暴而喧腾的烈风骤起,仿佛预告着极大的凶险。可怖的轰鸣如霹雳般回荡,豺狼在那儿发出不祥的嚎叫。”
संजय उवाच
The verse uses ominous natural signs to underscore the ethical weight of war: when collective action is driven by adharma, the world itself seems to warn of impending suffering, urging discernment and responsibility rather than blind momentum.
Sañjaya reports fearful portents—violent winds, terrifying crashing sounds, and jackals howling ominously—signaling that a grave and dangerous turn is imminent on the battlefield.
