भीष्म-पर्व अध्याय १०० — त्रिगर्त-आक्रमण, भीष्म-केन्द्रित पुनर्संयोजन, तथा शक्त्यस्त्र-विनिमय
उवाच प्राञ्जलिर्भीष्मं बाष्पकण्ठो5श्रुलोचन: । त्वां वयं हि समाश्रित्य संयुगे शत्रुसूदन
uvāca prāñjalir bhīṣmaṃ bāṣpa-kaṇṭho ’śru-locanaḥ | tvāṃ vayaṃ hi samāśritya saṃyuge śatru-sūdana ||
他合掌而立，喉间哽咽，泪盈双目，迦尔纳对毗湿摩说道：“噬敌者啊！在此战场上倚仗于您，我们便生出豪气，自信连同因陀罗在内的诸天与阿修罗也可战胜；那么，击败那勇武的般度之子们，连同他们的友朋与亲族，又算得了什么大事？因此，主上，恒河之子，请垂怜于我：如因陀罗诛灭达那婆一般，愿您也击倒那些英勇的般度五子。”
