कर्ण उवाच
The verse highlights how external grandeur—guards, attendants, and ceremonial light—can project authority and security, yet it also implicitly contrasts such display with the deeper moral and strategic realities of the coming conflict, where dharma and wise counsel matter more than pageantry.
Karna describes a scene in which Duryodhana is escorted: numerous servants carry blazing golden lamps filled with perfumed oil and move around him on all sides, forming a luminous, protective entourage as he proceeds.
