भीष्म-पर्व अध्याय १०० — त्रिगर्त-आक्रमण, भीष्म-केन्द्रित पुनर्संयोजन, तथा शक्त्यस्त्र-विनिमय

दक्षिणं दक्षिण: काले सम्भृत्य स्वभुजं तदा । हस्तिहस्तोपमं शैक्ष॑ सर्वशत्रुनिबर्हणम्‌

dakṣiṇaṁ dakṣiṇaḥ kāle sambhṛtya svabhujaṁ tadā | hastihastopamaṁ śaikṣaṁ sarvaśatrunibarhaṇam | udārasvabhāvavān rājā duryodhanaḥ tadā samartho bhūtvā samastaśatrusaṁhāre hastisūṇḍāsadṛśaṁ viśālaṁ astraprahāraśikṣāyāṁ nipuṇatāṁ prāptaṁ svadakṣiṇabhujaṁ samutkṣipya sarvadiśaṁ samutthitān nānādeśanivāsimanuṣyāṇāṁ praṇāmāñjalīḥ pratigṛhṇan teṣāṁ madhurāṇi vacāṁsi śuśrāva

迦尔那说道:在适当之时,杜尤陀那王——秉性高贵,足以摧灭一切仇敌——聚敛其力,举起右臂;那臂膀宏伟如象鼻,又因武器击刺之训练而臻于纯熟。随后,四方诸国之人纷纷起立,合掌致敬;他受其礼拜,聆听他们甜美的言辞。
