अर्जुनदुःखहेतुप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the cause of Arjuna’s recurring hardship
Book 14, Chapter 89
ततः संश्रप्य तुरगं विधिवद् याजकास्तदा । उपसंवेशयन् राजंस्ततस्तां द्रुपदात्मजाम्
tataḥ saṃśrapya turagaṃ vidhivad yājakās tadā | upasaṃveśayan rājaṃs tatas tāṃ drupadātmajām ||
毗舍波耶那说道:随后,祭司们依仪轨如法为祭马行灌顶净化之礼;当时他们使国王就座于其应坐之位,继而又让德罗帕蒂——德鲁帕达之女——在他身旁就座。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as orderly, rule-based action: royal power is legitimized through correct ritual procedure, and the queen’s presence beside the king signals shared participation in a sanctioned public rite.
During the Aśvamedha preparations, the priests ritually consecrate the sacrificial horse, then seat the king in the ritual setting, and afterward seat Draupadī (Drupada’s daughter) beside him as part of the ceremony.
