Book 14, Chapter 89
ity uktaḥ sa kuruśreṣṭhaḥ prītātmā bhrātṛbhiḥ saha
The verse highlights the ethical value of concord: when counsel or instruction is received rightly, the leader’s inner joy is expressed through unity with his brothers—suggesting harmony, shared purpose, and collective responsibility in dharmic governance.
Vaiśampāyana narrates a brief transition: after someone speaks to the Kuru leader, he responds not with conflict but with pleased composure, remaining together with his brothers—signaling agreement and a settled course of action.
