Chapter 8
(विरोचमानं वपुषा दिव्याभरणभूषितम् । अनाद्यन्तमजं शम्भुं सर्वव्यापिनमी श्वरम् ।।
virocamānaṃ vapuṣā divyābharaṇabhūṣitam | anādyantam ajaṃ śambhuṃ sarvavyāpinam īśvaram || nistraiguṇyaṃ nirudvegaṃ nirmalaṃ nidhim ojasām | praṇamya prāñjaliḥ śarvaṃ prayāmi śaraṇaṃ haram || sammānyaṃ niścalaṃ nityam akāraṇam alepanam | adhyātmavedaṃ āsādya prayāmi śaraṇaṃ muhuḥ || yasya nityaṃ viduḥ sthānaṃ mokṣam adhyātmacintakāḥ | yoginas tattvamārgasthāḥ kaivalyaṃ padam akṣaram || yaṃ viduḥ saṅganirmuktāḥ sāmānyaṃ samadarśinaḥ | taṃ prapadye jagadyonim ayonim nirguṇātmakam || asṛjad yas tu bhūrādīn saptalokān sanātanān | sthitaḥ satyopari sthāṇu taṃ prapadye sanātanam || bhaktānāṃ sulabhaṃ taṃ hi durlabhaṃ dūrapātinām | adūrastham amuṃ devaṃ prakṛteḥ parataḥ sthitam || namāmi sarvalokasthaṃ vrajāmi śaraṇaṃ śivam || evaṃ kṛtvā namas tasmai mahādevāya raṃhase | mahātmane kṣitipate tat suvarṇam avāpsyasi ||
三婆尔多(Saṃvarta)说道:“我合掌顶礼娑尔婆(Śarva)——亦即哈利(Hari)、能除罪苦者——他以光耀之身显现,佩戴天界庄严;无始无终,不生(阿阇),吉祥者商婆(Śambhu),遍满一切,为自在主;超越三德(guṇa),无扰无惧,清净无垢,为灵威与精进之宝藏。我趋近那位内我之知者——恒可敬、不可动、常住、无因、无染——并一再归依于他。观内我真理者知其住处即解脱;安住实相之道的瑜伽行者知其为不坏的独存境(kaivalya);离执而平等观的圣贤知其在万有中同等而住。我向那世界之本源——而自身无源——其体性超越诸相诸质者,俯首归命。那永恒的住立者(Sthāṇu)安住于真界(Satyaloka)之上,创造自地界(Bhū)起的七个常住世界;我归依于他。他对奉爱者易得,对自远离者难求;近在咫尺,而又超越自然(Prakṛti)。我礼敬遍满诸世的神;我归依湿婆(Śiva)。因此,哦大地之主:以恭敬礼拜那迅疾而威猛的摩诃提婆(Mahādeva),你必将获得那堆黄金。”
संवर्त उवाच
The passage teaches śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) in Śiva as the transcendent, nirguṇa reality who is nevertheless near and accessible to devotees. Ethically, it contrasts devotion and inner orientation with deliberate distance (vimuḵhatā): the divine is ‘easy’ for the devoted but ‘hard’ for those who keep away. It also links liberation (mokṣa/kaivalya) with adhyātma-jñāna and freedom from attachment.
Saṃvarta offers an extended praise and surrender to Mahādeva Śiva, describing him through theological and yogic attributes (creator of worlds, beyond guṇas, goal of yogins). He then assures the addressed king (‘lord of the earth’) that by bowing to this swift and mighty Mahādeva in this manner, the king will obtain the promised hoard of gold.
