Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
samena sarvabhūteṣu niḥspṛheṇa nirāśiṣā | śakyā gatir iyaṃ gantuṃ sarvatra samadarśinā ||
The verse teaches that the highest spiritual attainment is reachable only through equanimity toward all beings, freedom from craving, and the absence of expectation for outcomes—an ethical inner discipline that stabilizes wisdom.
Vāyudeva is instructing the listener about the qualification required to reach the ‘supreme gati’ (highest state), framing it as a matter of character: impartiality, non-attachment, and equal vision in all situations.
