Different sages describe the same ultimate reality in varied metaphors—tree, forest, unmanifest Brahman, or the supreme sorrowless state—yet agree that the manifested whole proceeds from the Unmanifest and is ultimately imperishable.
Brahmā addresses the assembled seers and summarizes their diverse philosophical characterizations of the cosmic principle, framing a discussion on the nature of the self, the supreme Self, and the source of manifestation.
