Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā

Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

अधिभूतं तथा शब्दो दिशस्तत्राधिदैवतम्‌ । अब समस्त ज्ञानेन्द्रियोंके भूत

adhibhūtaṃ tathā śabdo diśas tatrādhidaivatam |

风神(Vāyu-deva)说道:“在此义理中,声为‘依物’(adhibhūta,客观之境),诸方为‘依天’(adhidaivata,主宰之神理)。”教法继而将诸根与其境域一一配属:就虚空(ākāśa)而言,耳为‘依我’(adhyātma,内在之根);声为其‘依物’;而东南西北诸方,则为统摄并安立其界的主神(adhidaivata)。
