Sāttvika-vṛtta-kathana (Brahmā on the Conduct of Sattva) — Chapter 38
विश्रम्भो द्वीस्तितिक्षा च त्याग शौचमतन्द्रिता । आनृशंस्यमसम्मोहो दया भूतेष्वपैशुनम्
viśrambho dhṛtis titikṣā ca tyāgaḥ śaucam atandritā | ānṛśaṁsyam asammoho dayā bhūteṣv apaiśunam ||
风神伐由说道:“信任、坚定、忍受、舍离、清净与不懈怠;慈和、无迷妄、怜悯一切众生,并远离诽谤——这些是萨埵性(sāttvika)之相,是以内心澄明与自我克制来护持达摩的德行。”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse enumerates sāttvika virtues—inner purity, steadiness, patience, renunciation, compassion, and truthful non-malicious speech—presenting them as the ethical foundation for living in accordance with dharma.
In Ashvamedhika Parva, Vāyudeva speaks as an instructor, listing the qualities that characterize sattva (clarity and goodness) to guide the listener toward righteous conduct and mental discipline.
