Abhaya-Itihāsa: Karma, Indriyas, and the Non-sensory Brahman
Brāhmaṇī–Brāhmaṇa Saṃvāda
एवमुक्त: स शान्तात्मा तामुवाच हसन्निव | सुभगे नाभ्यसूयामि वाक्यस्यास्य तवानघे
evam uktaḥ sa śāntātmā tām uvāca hasann iva | subhage nābhyasūyāmi vākyasyāsya tavānaghe ||
被她如此质问,那位心地澄静者仿佛微微一笑,对她说道:“有福的女子啊,无垢者啊——既然你常远离罪垢,我并不因你这番话而见怪。”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights kṣamā (forbearance) and śānti (inner calm): a virtuous person, recognizing another’s blameless intent, does not react with resentment but responds gently.
After being spoken to by his wife, the tranquil-minded figure replies with a mild smile, reassuring her that he does not take her words amiss because she is sinless and well-intentioned.
