Heaven is attained and sustained by those who actively perform dharma—rituals, duties, and disciplined action. The gods prefer that humans remain in the mortal sphere and pursue merit through rightful conduct rather than seeking an untimely escape from human embodiment.
Vāyudeva addresses Arjuna (Kaunteya), explaining the divine perspective: the celestial realm is populated by those who have earned it through action, and the gods do not approve of the premature ending of mortal life or the abandonment of the human condition.
