Mokṣa-dharma Yoga-Upadeśa: Equanimity, Sense-Restraint, and Vision of the Ātman (आत्मदर्शन-योगोपदेशः)
pratyabruvaṃ mahābāho yathāśrutam ariṃdama | śatrudamana mahābāhu mādhava! |
The verse highlights satya (truthfulness) and fidelity in conveying knowledge: one should answer according to what one has truly heard/received, without embellishment or concealment, especially in matters of instruction and tradition.
A brāhmaṇa has questioned the speaker; addressing Mādhava (Kṛṣṇa) with honorific epithets, the speaker states that he replied to the brāhmaṇa exactly as he had heard, indicating a faithful recounting of an earlier teaching or report.
