Educational Q&A

Even at the end of royal life, dharma is upheld through restraint, orderly conduct, and mutual respect—parting without agitation, honoring others, and accepting auspicious goodwill as one moves toward renunciation.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra, after being honored by those present, slowly dismisses the people/attendants. The scene emphasizes a calm leave-taking, with everyone regarding him favorably and auspiciously, linked in the verse to Śiva’s benevolent oversight.
