prāpsyate ca bhavān puṇyaṃ dharme ca paramāṃ sthitim
That steadfast adherence to dharma yields puṇya (moral-spiritual merit) and culminates in the highest stability in righteousness—dharma is presented not merely as action but as a state of firm spiritual establishment.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, conveys an assurance to an addressed person (bhavān) that the course being urged or undertaken will lead to merit and the supreme standing in dharma, reinforcing the ethical direction of the episode.
