Legitimate sovereignty is not mere enjoyment; it is stewardship—maintaining continuity through heirs, administering the realm properly, and practicing generosity through rightful gifts.
Vaiśampāyana summarizes the condition of the kingdom during the addressee’s absence: the rule remained secure in the family line, the realm was governed for thirteen years, and various forms of wealth were distributed as gifts.
