Chapter 33: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Welfare-Inquiries and Vidura’s Yogic Absorption
āhṛto yatra yajñas te tatra devā hitās tava | yadā samanvitā devāḥ paśūnāṁ gamaneṣu carāḥ ||
Properly performed yajña aligns human action with dharma and invites divine goodwill; such divine favor is portrayed as enabling beings to attain their intended higher destinations (iṣṭa-loka), linking ethical ritual conduct with spiritual outcomes.
Vaiśampāyana explains that from the moment the sacrifice was begun, the gods became friendly to the sacrificer; when the gods are favorably disposed, they actively assist beings in their onward passage and grant attainment of desired worlds.
