sañjayaṃ ca mahātmānaṃ kṛpaṃ cāpi mahāratham | anunetum ihecchāmi bhavadbhir vasudhādhipam
The verse highlights a dharmic approach to conflict resolution: persuasion and conciliation (anunaya) should be attempted respectfully and with the support of trusted elders and counselors, rather than coercion.
The speaker expresses an intention to approach and gently persuade the king, seeking the cooperation of Sañjaya and Kṛpa—figures associated with counsel and martial authority—suggesting a sensitive political or ethical decision in the post-war setting.
