धृतराष्ट्रस्य पाण्डवेषु प्रीति-वृत्तान्तः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Affectionate Disposition toward the Pāṇḍavas
/ अपर बक। ] अति्शा:< तृतीयो<थध्याय: 04% 3 तराष्ट्रका गान्धारीके साथ वनमें जानेके लिये उद्योग एवं अनुमति देनेके लिये अनुरोध तथा युधिष्छिर और कुन्ती आदिका दु:खी होना वैशम्पायन उवाच युधिष्ठिरस्य नृपतेर्दुर्योधनपितुस्तदा । नान्तरं ददृशू राज्ये पुरुषा: प्रणयं प्रति,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! राजा युधिष्ठिर और धूृतराष्ट्रमें जो पारस्परिक प्रेम था, उसमें राज्यके लोगोंने कभी कोई अन्तर नहीं देखा
vaiśampāyana uvāca | yudhiṣṭhirasya nṛpater duryodhana-pitus tadā | nāntaraṃ dadṛśuḥ rājye puruṣāḥ praṇayaṃ prati ||
毗舍波耶那说:“噢,阇那美阇耶!当时国中之人丝毫不见由提施提罗王与持国——都利约陀那之父——之间的相互情爱有任何差别。”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after catastrophic conflict, dharmic governance is marked by restraint and the capacity to maintain respectful, affectionate relations—so that society does not witness factional hostility in the ruler’s conduct toward elders and former adversaries.
At the opening of this chapter in the Āśramavāsika Parva, the narrator notes that the kingdom’s people observed no diminution in the cordial relationship between King Yudhiṣṭhira and Dhṛtarāṣṭra, setting the ethical tone for the events leading to Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Gāndhārī’s move toward forest life.
