Bhāgīrathī-tīra-śauca, Kurukṣetra-gamana, and Śatayūpa-āśrama-dīkṣā (गङ्गातीरशौच–कुरुक्षेत्रगमन–शतयूपाश्रमदीक्षा)
फल मूलं च बुभुजे राज्ञा दत्त सहानुज: । ततस्ते वृक्षमूलेषु कृतवासपरिग्रहा: । तां रात्रिमवसन् सर्वे फलमूलजलाशना:
phala-mūlaṃ ca bubhuje rājñā dattaḥ sahānujāḥ | tatas te vṛkṣa-mūleṣu kṛta-vāsa-parigrahāḥ | tāṃ rātrim avasan sarve phala-mūla-jalāśanāḥ ||
毗舍摩波耶那说：尤提士提罗与诸位弟弟领受国王所赐，食用果实与根茎。随后，他们决意以树根之下为栖身之所，众人便在彼处度过一夜，只以果、根与清水维生。此景彰显合乎达摩的节制：生活俭朴，不贪多而受施，并奉行经典之旨——以自己赖以生存之资，敬奉来客。
