Bhāgīrathī-tīra-śauca, Kurukṣetra-gamana, and Śatayūpa-āśrama-dīkṣā (गङ्गातीरशौच–कुरुक्षेत्रगमन–शतयूपाश्रमदीक्षा)
इत्युक्तो धर्मराज: स विनिवृत्य ततः पुनः । राज्ञो वैचित्रवीर्यस्य तत् सर्व प्रत्यवेदयत्
ity ukto dharmarājaḥ sa vinivṛtya tataḥ punaḥ | rājño vaicitryavīryasya tat sarvaṃ pratyavedayat ||
毗湿摩波耶那说:既受此言,法王(坚战,Yudhiṣṭhira)便再度折返。他来到维奇特拉一系之王(俱卢族的持国,Dhṛtarāṣṭra)面前,将天声所传的一切尽数禀告——在林居清苦而肃穆的境况中,仍以尽责的坦诚与对长者的敬礼为先。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after the war and amid the forest-ascetic setting, Yudhiṣṭhira upholds dharma through respectful accountability: he returns and reports fully to the elder king. The verse highlights ethical governance through truthfulness, deference, and transparent communication.
After being addressed (in context, following a message such as an unseen/sky-voice or instruction), Yudhiṣṭhira turns back and goes to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, informing him of everything that was said or occurred.
