Attempt to Dissuade Kuntī; Commencement of Forest Residence
तानाचख्यौ तदा सूत: सर्वास्तानभिनामतः । संजयो द्रौपदी चैव सर्वाश्चान्या: कुरुस्त्रिय:
tān ācakhyau tadā sūtaḥ sarvāṁs tān abhināmataḥ | sañjayo draupadī caiva sarvāś cānyāḥ kurustriyaḥ ||
毗湿摩波耶那说:当时,车夫(苏多)三阇耶应他们的询问,逐一报出众人的名字——三阇耶、德罗帕蒂,以及俱卢族系的其他诸位妇人——从而清楚地为他们作了介绍。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic communication: speaking truthfully and respectfully by naming and properly identifying people, especially in sensitive circumstances. Correct recognition of persons and lineage is treated as part of social and ethical order.
After being questioned, Sañjaya (described as a sūta/charioteer) introduces those present by name—explicitly mentioning Draupadī and the other Kuru women—so the inquirers understand who they are.
