तथैव द्रौपदेयानामन्येषां सूहदामपि । वध संस्मृत्य ते वीरा नातिप्रमनसो5भवन्,इसी प्रकार द्रौपदीके पुत्रों तथा अन्यान्य सुहृदोंके वधकी बात याद करके उनके मनकी सारी प्रसन्नता भाग जाती थी
tathaiva draupadeyānām anyeṣāṁ suhṛdām api | vadhaṁ saṁsmṛtya te vīrā nātipramanaso 'bhavan ||
同样,当那些英雄回想起德劳帕迪诸子被屠戮——以及其他挚友的惨死——他们的心便无法真正欢喜;失丧的记忆驱散了他们的喜悦。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after victory or outward peace, the ethical and emotional residue of violence remains: remembrance of slain loved ones prevents genuine joy, underscoring the Mahābhārata’s insistence on the long shadow of adharma and the human cost of war.
Vaiśampāyana describes the heroes’ inner state in the post-war period: when they think of the killing of Draupadī’s sons and other friends, their happiness fades and they become unable to feel sustained cheer.
