धृतराष्ट्रोपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Instruction on Rājadharma and Bala
भीमश्च सर्वदुःखानि संस्मृत्य बहुलान्युत । कृच्छादिव महाबाहुरनुजज्ञे विनि:श्वसन्
bhīmaś ca sarvaduḥkhāni saṃsmṛtya bahulāny uta | kṛcchrād iva mahābāhur anujajñe viniḥśvasan ||
毗湿摩波耶那说道:于是,臂力无双的毗摩忆起他们曾经忍受的种种苦难,长叹一声,仿佛极其艰难地,才同意将财物施与他人。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when weighed down by remembered suffering, one may still uphold dharma—here expressed as consenting to rightful giving (dāna). The verse highlights moral resolve that persists despite grief and inner resistance.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Bhīma, after recalling numerous past hardships, sighs deeply and—only with difficulty—agrees to the proposed act of giving wealth, indicating emotional strain in the post-conflict setting.
