Bhishma teaches that śrāddha, a dharmic act of honoring ancestors, is to be performed with proper observance of auspicious lunar mansions: Punarvasu is recommended for those seeking wealth, and Puṣya for those seeking nourishment and flourishing—emphasizing disciplined practice aligned with tradition.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhishma is instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma, including rules and recommended timings for śrāddha. This verse gives specific nakṣatra-based guidance connecting desired outcomes with ritual timing.
