Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
आदित्या वसवो रुद्रा मरुतो5थाश्चिनावपि | साध्याश्च सर्वे संत्रस्ता दैतेयस्य पराक्रमात्,आदित्य, वसु, रुद्र, मरुदगण, अश्विनीकुमार तथा साध्य--सभी देवता उस दैत्यके पराक्रमसे संत्रस्त हो उठे थे
ādityā vasavo rudrā maruto ’thāśvināv api | sādhyāś ca sarve saṁtrastā daiteyasya parākramāt ||
毗湿摩说道:“阿底提耶诸神、婆苏诸神、楼陀罗诸神、摩鲁特诸神,甚至那对阿湿毗尼双子——确然,一切萨底耶——都因那位代提耶的压倒性勇力而惊惧。”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights that raw might, especially when aligned with adharma, can destabilize the world and intimidate even divine powers; therefore, true order depends on dharma, not mere strength.
Bhīṣma describes a moment when various groups of gods—Ādityas, Vasus, Rudras, Maruts, the Aśvins, and the Sādhyas—become fearful due to the extraordinary prowess of a Daiteya, indicating a crisis that threatens cosmic balance.
